SMACC is the St. Mary's Anglican Cathedral Contemporary Gathering
It also stands for
- Solid Bible teaching - expository preaching and cell groups that study the Bible
- Music that is Biblical and contemporary
- A Warm Welcome
- Community of God's People who love and serve each other
- Concern for the Lost who need to hear the Gospel

Most of the people who come to SMACC are Christians - we trust in Jesus Christ as our Saviour who died for us on the cross, and our Lord who rules us by his Word.
We also have friends who come who are not Christians but are interested in finding out what following Jesus is all about. These people are also very welcome at our gatherings.
SMACC1 (morning) has a wide age range and includes young adults, families and some older people as well. The largest age group at SMACC2 (evening) are 20 to 40 year olds but older and younger people are just as welcome!
Children are very welcome among us in both gatherings although we have concentrated our efforts in catering for them at SMACC1 in the morning. Most attend the Sunday School at the cathedral which is held simultaneously while others choose to stay in the gathering. There is also a creche near where we meet.
For High School aged students, our cathedral has a youth fellowship called 'ROCK' - Relying on Christ the King which runs during our SMACC 1 (morning) gathering. Most of our youth join SMACC for some songs at the beginning of the gathering before proceeding for their own Bible study and other activities nearby. Others prefer to remain in SMACC for the entire gathering time.
Most of our university and college age students attend SMACC2 and also go to the Tertiary Group which meets on Saturday afternoons.
While the majority of our people are locals, we also have regulars from many different parts of the world, particularly at SMACC1. God has brought us together as an international gathering - united by faith in Jesus Christ and love for his people.
